A CARRIAGE WITH A DIFFERENCE – WHAT AN EXTRAORDINARY CANVAS!
An authentic Royal Carriage is displayed in the atrium space in the Londoner Hotel and contains the now iconic characters – Londi (the Late Queen’s favourite corgi) and Bobby the English Bulldog (Londi’s trusty best friend). The carriage windows are fitted with a transparent OLED screen on the outside and an LED screen in the carriage interior, allowing the characters to come to life amongst the vibrant and gorgeously animated scenes.
AIM’S INNOVATIVE SCREEN DIRECTION AND DESIGN ELEVATES THIS 360° EXPERIENCE
The carriage contains a layered canvas which allowed us to portray the ‘occupants’ on the far side, the middle – as well as front and centre at the main window.
The interior screen creates the illusion of depth in the carriage; to convert this into a 360° experience, we duplicated the set up on the reverse side – heightening the experience and extending the set.
As a content canvas, the carriage depicts gorgeous, animated scenes featuring Londi and Bobby in a series of humorous scenarios. The characters travel through opulent English gardens and parks – causing general mayhem and delighting visitors to the Londoner!
BESPOKE, WORLD-CLASS CHARACTER DESIGN AND ANIMATION
AIM lovingly crafted the characters Londi and Bobby over several months of production: they were conceived, sketched, modelled and animated by our expert team of art directors, designers, concept artists and 3D team. The character models have become so loved and widely regarded, they have gone on to become the Londoner Hotel’s official mascots and have been mass produced as merchandise.
