As the creative and design lead for all visual components for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games, AIM was tasked with creating a visual feast of unique and highly developed content for the 90-minute show. Countless hours of research, testing, design and animation made it all possible. Each and every scene was distinctly different – from complex and elaborate shoots to the digital recreation of Baku city - all part of the challenge which has left a very proud mark in AIM’s journey.

The show took viewers on a journey following a little girl and her kite through a series of universal themes: harmony, identity, belief, purity, knowledge, dream, joy, hope, inspiration, and peace.

An 80m x 35m main screen, an Arabesque designed set floor, two flanking Minarets and an LED controlled stadium facade formed the canvas in which the show played out on.

Produced by Catherine Ugwe, the production brought together a team of more than 5,000 creative, production, technical, site, and logistics personnel and crew from 31 different countries and was hailed by the President and First Lady as the most successful show in the history of Azerbaijan.
